Used Mechanical Sewing Machines
Over time, it is common to have thread, lint and other things to build up in your machine. In addition, it is not uncommon to find the tension and timing out of alignment.
Cleaning the machine is the first order of business followed by oiling, checking all parts of the machine and making needed tension and timing adjustments. This is followed by checking gears, needle threaders, cutters, motor and other parts of the machine. Any broken parts are replaced at this time. The last step is a careful wiping down of the entire machine.
Used Computerized Sewing Machines
Used computerized sewing machines are more complicated than mechanical sewing machines due to the use of computer chips. These chips are what provides the smooth operation that makes sewing a pleasure with this type of mechanism.
After a thorough cleaning, fresh oil is applied to assure that there are no dry parts in the machine that can cause friction. Adjustments are made to the tension, Feed Dog and Hook timing. Following this, all belts, automatic needle threaders, bobbin winders, thread cutters, bobbin case, gears, sensors, circuit boards, screens, other electronic components are checked for adjustment or replacement.
This procedure is also followed on Long Arm Sewing & Quilting, Embroidery, Multi-Needle Embroidery, and Industrial Sewing Machines. Servicing any of these machines will include an inspection, thorough cleaning, lubrication, adjustments. A part replacement has a charge over that of servicing.
