A Free Motion Quilting Foot is available as an extra purchase. This foot provides a technique whereby quilting stitches can be added by sewing in any direction of the quilt’s surface. When used, the feed dogs need to be disengaged.
Many people use this technique for stippling which is one of the most common free motion quilting sewing used. Tippling, also called Meandering, is a Free Motion Quilting method whereby the lines randomly wander over the quilt without crossing.
When using this method of quilting the machine’s stitch length should be set at approximately 8-12 stitches per inch. Threads which have a sparkle or shine will need a longer stitch length.
At Capital Sew and Quilt, one of our highly trained personnel will give you a complete demonstration and offer you the opportunity to try this machine yourself. Classes are also available if desired.
